For Friday night’s draws, the jackpot soared to $421 million. The lucky ticket bearer matched all of the winning numbers: 3, 16, 25, 44, 55, and 13. This multi-million-dollar ticket was purchased at a Chevron gas station on the suburbs of Los Angeles, according to the California lottery.
According to the New York Post, it is one of Mega Millions’ 13 highest prizes ever.
“It’s a MEGA fantastic Friday for California!” the lottery teased Twitter after the drawing. Also, four tickets tallied the five white balls perfectly on Friday night to win the game’s second prize of $1 million. One of them was sold for $3 million in Ohio since it had the Megaplier, which is an optional feature. The last three $1 million tickets were sold in Mississippi, Texas, and New York.
After a Three-month Hiatus, the Jackpot Was Won
Mega Millions has been without a jackpot winner for three months. In October, a family from Arizona won $108 million in a lottery. More than 16.2 million prizes were up for grabs across the board in the 28-a drawing jackpot run, including 39 second-tier rewards for $1 million or more.
Across the Country, 19 States Were Victorious
Texas, Tennessee, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Carolina, New York, New Jersey, Missouri, Mississippi, Minnesota, Michigan, Maryland, Maine, Indiana, Idaho, Georgia, Florida, and California were among the 19 states that received extra large awards.
The next Jackpot drawing will be place on Tuesday, February 1st, with a starting value of $20 million.
