The increase in the COLA for 2022 also helped those with disabilities. Disabled workers saw a rise of $76 in their monthly salary, from $1,282 to $1,358. For handicapped employees, SSDI offers a variety of benefits, including special tax breaks and monthly stipends.

Taxes will rise as a consequence of the increase in benefits. This year’s maximum social security tax has been increased from $142,800 to $147,000.
