Naomi Osaka lost at the Australian Open

Naomi Osaka lost three sets against undefeated American Amanda Anisimova in the third round of the Australian Open on Friday.

Osaka, who returned to the big tennis tournament in 2021 at the Australian Open after a year off work to deal with mental health problems, won the first set 6-4 before the second defeat 6-3 and the third 7-6 at half-time.

After his first loss in 2022, Osaka will drop to 84 on the WTA list, according to live-tennis.eu.

As of August 2016, when he started playing competitive tennis, he was ranked 84th in the world.

Considering how little tennis he played in 2021, Osaka was ranked 14th in the world before the Australian Open.

On Friday, an unidentified American beat Naomi Osaka at the Australian Open.
Amanda Anisimova, of New Jersey, beat Naomi Osaka by three sets in Melbourne.

Osaka said she would not look at social media for a while

It looks like Osaka will avoid social media following his expulsion from Melbourne for the same reason he took his vacation in 2021.

After the game, Osaka told reporters he would shut down most of the social media apps on his phone when he returned to the chat room.

“It’s always been a tennis game for me. I get the feeling that foreign things are coming to an end” he said in response to a question about his feelings about his loss.

“If I pick up my phone, I will delete Instagram and Twitter and can post again in a few weeks.

“It ‘s exciting for me. Not a loss, but a guy I lost to, as it shows the growth of tennis. Losing someone else today may make news, but I believe it produces a lot of stars, which is a good thing in the game.”

Anisimova said after her victory over Osaka: “Since Naomi is a great champion, I have seen fit to raise the bar.

“I think I started doing that in the second set. I’m glad I played well today and won. It means a lot to me.”

Anisimova’s journey to the Australian Open is not easy after beating Osaka. Home favorite, Ash Barty, is waiting for him in the next round.
